Patrick Jeremy has performed in musical theatre, cabaret and opera, from the Sydney Opera House to regional Australia, cabaret seasons in New York and London, and a directing fellowship at English National Opera. Patrick received a Best Actor nomination for his portrayal of Georges Seurat in the Australian Premiere of Sunday in the Park with George at State Opera of South Australia, and this summer plays Giorgio in Sondheim’s Passion. Other favourite roles include a national tour as Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and the title role in Bernstein’s Candide.
Dubbed “the tenor in tap-shoes”, Patrick made his New York cabaret debut at Don’t Tell Mama, and won the inaugural Adelaide Cabaret Festival Scholarship and Churchill Fellowship. Patrick has performed in musicals since childhood, in the Gordon Frost Organisation’s The King & I and The Wizard of Oz, and with State Theatre Company and The Australian Ballet. Musical theatre credits at Adelaide Festival Centre include Kiss Me Kate, Guys & Dolls, the Adelaide premieres of Into the Woods and The Secret Garden and the Opera Australia operettas Die Fledermaus and The Mikado. Recent credits include Jake Heggie’s Moby-Dick, Gale Edwards’ Salome and Jonathan Biggins’ Orpheus in the Underworld.
