Nicholas grew up in Melbourne and from a young age trained in dance, namely tap and jazz, going on a hiatus for several years to focus on high school and university. He came back to the musical theatre world and completed the full time Associate in Music Theatre course at APO Arts Academy in 2011 under the tutelage of some of WAAPA’s finest, Steven Wheat and Nicholas McMahon while also doing the full time dance course in Dance World. Most recently Nicholas returned to full time dance training in 2013 to further develop his technique at Robert Sturrock’s Industry Dance and performed in the end of year show Cabaret by Night. He also performed in the 2013 season of Holy Ship The Stage Show, as well as played one of the male dance leads in the Australian feature film Now Add Honey starring Portia Di Rossi and Lucy Fry to be released in late 2014. Currently, when not involved in dance classes or singing lessons, he has been perfecting his screen acting craft with Aleksi Vellis at The Film Space.
The King and I will mark Nicholas’ musical theatre debut and he is thankful for all his supportive family and respected mentors who have been with him since the very beginning (too grand a number for all to be named).
